L’ amour toujours is something irrevocable when speaking about France. In this respect, while I was traveling through Mexico City, I was surprised to find the loveliest French restaurant possible: Au pied du cochon.
The first thing that impressed me was the fact that the restaurant is located in the famous Hotel Presidente Inter-Continental, a fact that makes it perfect for amazing charades and high society balls or cocktails. It is very important to know that the restaurant is open 24 hours per day. So, you can enjoy a glass of the tasty Chardonnay without worrying that you will not be able to finish its last drop. Two symmetrically arranged bars with highly experienced waiters will be at your disposal at any time of the day.
Nevertheless, speaking about the menu the restaurant offers, many wonderful entrees and finely prepared food. Starting from steak frites and ending with lobster and seafood dishes, Au pied du cochon virtually gives you a taste of France all the while being in Mexico City. What I liked a lot about the restaurant was the decorative elements, which perfectly fit the new French art along with its original avangardist artists.
So it is that Au pied du cochon offers you the perfect occasion for relaxing and taking a imaginary tour of the beautiful France. Culture, traditions, art, music are all in perfect concordance with the specific of France and its people. Still, there is one thing you will have to learn in order to reach the highest spiritual level that the restaurant imposes: Bonjour, ca va? Then the best part is you can step out the doors back to the hub of the most enjoyable Mexico city!
