Polanco

One of Mexico City's Ritzy Districts

Its always nice to do a variety of things when on vacation. This is one the greatest features about vacationing in Mexico City. It has a little bit of everything. If you want something from the past there are lots of historical sites to visit. If you want some partying and night life there is plenty of that too. Then if you want a taste of the unusual, there is no shortage. In amongst all of this its nice to throw in a semi formal event. In this case for Mexico city then Polanco is the  place to be. This is certainly a posh district of Mexico City located just north of the famous Chapultepec Park.

To begin with you will find that many of the street names are those of famous writers or other individuals of notoriety. Being as this is one of the wealthiest areas of the City it is best to prepare yourself that it will be a fairly expensive part of your vacation, depending on what activities you partake in while visiting here. If you are going to attend one of the boutiques as part of a buying spree then expect to pay a fairly hefty price for your items. Although well worth the money you spend as everything here is of the very best quality.

One of the other things that I enjoyed in Polanco was the diversity of the nationalities. There are those with Jewish background, as well as Lebanese for example.  One thing you may want to consider though in order not to miss anything is to spend your time traveling about Polanco on foot as opposed to vehicle. This way you won’t miss many of the wonderful restaurants and stores that are located here.
